[Dec. 12th, 2009|06:36 pm]
So, my christmas cards finally left my house. I hope to get to their destination in time, as most of them are going to America, but with my exchanges it always went fairly quickly.
No home-made cards this year, due to my health-issues. It's hard to stitch, when you have to rest in bed as much as possible and take things easy. Of course, now I have meds for the high blood-pressure, so hopefully everything will improve soon.

Well, being confined to bed is no fun! And of course, stitching is quite impossible as well. But, I did get some stitching done before my enforced bedrest, and my mother took a piccie of it for me :-)

I was working on lanarte kit The Egyptian Empire by Maria Van Scharrenburg. I did a look of work on Toetanchamon. This Farao demands lots of work, because there are tons of backstitches in it, and most of those backstitches are in DMC gold metallic, and that's not always fun to work with.

So let me know what you think of it so far.

animal SAL update [Oct. 29th, 2009|08:07 pm]
It's been a while since I've updated, oops!

It's not because I haven't been stitching though :-) I've been working on the mystery SAL, this time with a print-out. It seemed my printer was hungry for more ink, silly printer not telling me such a small detail! So after feeding the printer, I got a very nice print out of it. That did help a lot to get the stitching done faster. And this is the result...

Having a bad day? [Oct. 19th, 2009|07:56 pm]
This is how I heard YOUR day was going....

First you had trouble getting out of bed

You had a stiff neck

You washed your hair and couldn't do a thing with it

Your new diet really doesn't seem to be working out

You pulled a muscle when you tried to exercise

Your new hat looked better on you at the store

You keep losing things

You got caught in the rain at lunchtime

Then the lunch you had didn't seem to agree with you

You feel trapped

Uninvited guests showed up at dinnertime

On top of that you think you're coming down with the flu

And finally, you're alone in the house at night when you think you hear a noise in the basement

MAYBE TOMORROW WILL BE BETTER!!

Draught of the living death? [Aug. 13th, 2009|11:36 am]
I was watching the series of Kung Fu on Youtube, and in the second season, episode 20 Caine makes a potion to simulate death, it even has acconite in it. I immediately had to think of the HP books!

Cross-stitch update [May. 16th, 2009|03:07 pm]
[Tags|]

so I got around to another cross-stitch update.

A member of the ILCS-group offered a pattern she had finished, I really liked it and since there were only two people who responded, I got it (to later send on to the second person). I finished this pattern a week or two again. It's called 'Piano time' and has a cute kitten 'playing' te piano.

I'd also followed another finishing-class by Meari. She already thaught us how to make a flatfold, now it was time to make some Mail-Art. I did need help with the Mail-Art from my mother, since it involved a sewing machine, and I don't have one. So this one is a collaboration between me and my mum. We finished it this week :)

realised I never put my march update around here [May. 14th, 2009|09:44 pm]
so I copied it from my livejournal and voila:

Okay, we're about halfway april, but I delayed in giving my update, just didn't feel up to it.

Stitching (and all the rest) went slow because I'm struggling somewhat with depressed feelings/thoughts. Nevertheless, I did manage to complete one of the goals I had set for myself: I finished the EMS Rose Sampler.

it was stitched on an 18 count Aïda.

I also wanted to finish a tiny project, that I had started on the last day of february, but it seems I lost one of the colors, so I had to order a new skein.

And since it's a late update anyway, here's a little something I made this month.

This one is also stitched on 18 ct Aïda, and that made it tinier than I expected, so harder to put togheter, but it's very cute :-)

well, 'till the next update (which hopefully will not be this late again) ---> so, notice there is no april update yet?; lol. Not so funny actually, it's because I'm struggling with a depression, but the update is coming! Only it will be april and may in one :)

[mood | excited]

I'm so excited, it's taking me almost two whole months in the year, but I finally have my first finish! One of my three WIP's has joined the ranks of the finished cross-stitch projects.

Please take a peek under the cut...

time for a game... )

unfortunately, there's a mistake in the yellow blocks, two of the blocks go in the wrong direction, but it was impossible to frog them, lesson out of this: don't stitch while depressed (although stitching takes my mind of the depression, to that's a bad lesson to draw out of it). But anyway, from the front, the mistake is hardly noticable for even those who know of it, so non-stitchers will probably see nothing wrong on it (I hope!).

I'm neglecting my cross-stitch updates, oops!

I did put my update on the yahoo-group, but here's a quick recap. I started the first of january with a new project: the Empire of Egypt. Turned out, I started at the wrong place, and had to frog everything! So, started over on the second of january...

In the middle of the month, I went back to Monopoly, and ... guess what ... had to frog it all a day later :-( I missed in the direction of the board, so my little crosses went the wrong way, after that bad start, I picked up again, and all went well for a while. Unfortunately, later I missed again, but it's not possible to frog anymore.

I also worked on the EMS Sampler and finally finished up part 9.

Pics of all three projects can be seen at Webshots - Current WIP'S and UFO's

I finally downloaded the pics from my camera, lol, so you get the updates once again, all in one post! You may begin to run now...

I had given myself up for another two exchanges, stitched christmass cards. The first one was for the ILCS-yahoogroup:

stitched christmas card for Kelly )

the second card I made was for the Dutch Forum of the EMS Cross-Stitch Board.
stitched christmas card for Hetti )
Both Designs for the cards were stitched on a 18-count Aïda, because the designs were actually not small enough for cards.

I'm very happy to be able to say I finished the Noël Sampler SAL, you can view it here:
noël Sampler SAL ) This was a free SAL offered by Novalee (Carole).

And I have 'finally' gotten around to part 2 of the EMS Rose Sampler, which was also a free SAL of 2008! (Ahum)
This way for the EMS Sampler... )

I have already stitched up another small design for a card, but no pics there yet...
